With the “Heart Series”, I approached the heart as both an anatomical organ that supports the life force and as a symbol representing the center of feelings and personality. My goal was to not sentimentalize the heart icon and portray the typical emotions that it tends to represent in a traditional way -- but to use it as a vehicle to express less conventional emotions in a more contemporary manner.
